The Quebec Society of Lipidology, Nutrition and Metabolism (SQLNM) under the presidency of Dr. Pierre Julien, and the Cadiometabolic Health Diabetes and Obesity Research Network, (CMDO), as well as the Complications of Obesity Laval and Université de Sherbrooke / Complications of Obesity at university Laval and Sherbrooke Universities (COLOSSUS) both under the direction of Dr. André Carpentier, are committed to maintain efforts to improve the health of the population of Quebec, both in terms of diabetes and dyslipidemia, as well as those related to cardiometabolic and vascular disorders. They all agree, for a seventh year, to present a joint annual symposium at Hôtel Chéribourg, Magog – Orford, from February 6 to 8, 2019.

The COLosSUS group is a platform dedicated to the study of obesity, diabetes and cardio-pulmonary and cerebral complications with particular emphasis on the use of cardiovascular, cerebral and metabolic imaging methods. The CMDO Network is a thematic network of the FRQS which aims to improve cardiometabolic health and reduce diabetes and obesity in the Quebec population by promoting medical training and the creation of research groups supporting scientific collaborations and technological transfers at national and international levels. SQLNM is a not-for-profit corporation that promotes training, education and research to clinicians and researchers in the areas of lipidology, nutrition and metabolism in cardiovascular health. In February of each year, we highlight a Quebec francophone week devoted to cardiometabolic health education, diabetes and obesity! Continuing medical education credits will be obtained from the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Nursing at Université Laval for the last two days of the joint conference, February 7 and 8, 2019.

Thus, SQLNM and the CMDO Network are joining forces to propose the 2019 conference program (Click HERE and click the Download program icon). The general theme of this year is “Metabolic health and intervention in life cycles“.

Looking forward to meeting you there.
