Support program for the recruitment of postdoctoral trainees from outside of Quebec

Created in April 2012 by the Fonds de Recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS), the Research Network on CardioMetabolic health, Diabetes and Obesity aims to promote research excellence, knowledge development and knowledge sharing in these areas to improve the quality of life of Quebecers.

The network is launching its Support Program for the Recruitment of Postdoctoral Fellows from Outside of Quebec 2021-2022 for CMDO Network regular researchers wishing to recruit a postdoctoral fellow from outside Quebec. The goal of this program is to promote the recruitment and optimal integration of promising young postdoctoral fellows within the CMDO Network, to encourage them to come to Quebec, to accelerate the start of their postdoctoral fellowship, as well as to support the productivity of CMDO research teams. There are two aspects to this support: 1) free participation of the winning postdoctoral fellow at the CMDO research week in February (including Winter Camp, Annual Scientific Meeting, accommodation and meals) and 2) a maximum financial support of $ 2,000 for the reimbursement of travel expenses for the CMDO activity week and / or the visit of the CMDO researcher host laboratory. A maximum of two (2) supports per year will be funded following an evaluation based on criteria of excellence.

The deadline for submitting applications is August 25, 2021.

The visit of the host laboratory must take place between January 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023.

Participation at the CMDO week must be held no later than February 2023.

The eligibility criteria and the evaluation method are described in the guide.

Requests submitted late, incomplete or that do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be evaluated. Prospective postdoctoral fellows and sponsors affiliated with a Québec research center must become members of the network before applying to the competition. Two follow-up reports will be requested, after the visit of the host laboratory and at the end of the postdoctoral internship, if applicable.

It is always important to take the rules and criteria before completing the Form (Open PDF file (top of page) to see the details in the questionnaire).
