The CMDO’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Table

Accompanying and supporting the network in its various activities

To date, we have:

  • Integrated EDI questions into contest forms, including open-ended questions.
  • Created an anonymous self-identifying questionnaire for all members.
  • Added contest eligibility requirements to promote fairness in the distribution of prizes and grants.
  • Clarified, documented and shared information about the evaluation process in documents describing competition guidelines.
  • Offered a workshop for students on integrating EDI aspects into provincial and national competitions.

1 – The CMDO in its structure: diagnose the network’s structure to identify possible structural/systematic limitations on the consideration of EDI criteria.

2 – The CMDO in its communications strategies: define guidelines for CMDO communications, implement the network’s EDI principles to raise awareness and promote the inclusion of diverse voices and backgrounds.

3 – The CMDO in its activities: We will also carry out a diagnostic of the participation and organization of past activities to ensure the inclusion of all. This will also enable us to define our values more clearly and integrate them appropriately into the network’s operating principles.

4 – Organization of training and provision of materials: provide training and materials (webinars to help members apply for grants, scholarships, planning, etc.). Make this information available on the website.

5 – Link with other EDI initiatives and strategies: Evaluate external initiatives to enable us to adopt EDI best practices and integrate them at the network level.
