Call for PhD students, residents, postdoctoral fellows and research professionals for the Winter Camp of CMDO Network

This Winter camp is for participant speaking/understanding French and consequently the registration form and guide are only available in french (no english version available)

Created in April 2012 by the Fond de Recherche du Quebec – Santé (FRQS), the Research Network on CardioMetabolic health, Diabetes and Obesity aims to promote research excellence, knowledge development and knowledge sharing in these areas to improve the quality of life of Quebecers.

The network launches a call to PhD students, residents, postdoctoral fellows and research professionals for its Winter camp which will be held January 31 to February 4th 2020 at Hotel Cheribourg, Magog-Orford, Canada. Doctoral students, residents, postdoctoral fellows, and research professionals from all regular members of the network are invited to participate in this contest. This year we will again have among us participants of the Institute of Cardiometabolism and Nutrition (ICAN, Paris), an International postdoctoral fellow (with a recruitment target in Quebec), and francophone participants from Canada (outside Quebec), Member of Diabetes Action Canada. Again this year, methodological discussions will be carried out by participants and related to their expertise and ongoing research. Also, there will be the pre-camp practical exercise – writing, as a team, a letter of intent from an international project with constructive feedback / comments during the camp – to win, a $ 500 conference bursary for each member of the winning team. The objective of the Winter Camp is an intensive “all expenses paid” interactive workshops with internationally renowned speakers (only transport costs are not supported).

This training in translational research will integrate the main themes of the network:

  • Cardiometabolic health;
  • Diabetes;
  • Obesity;
  • and Patient-Oriented Research.

It will also integrate CMDO’s  four research areas:

  • Basic and preclinical research;
  • Nutrition, physical activity and human pathophysiology (Clinical Research);
  • Lifestyle, risk factors and population interventions across the life cycles (Populational Research);
  • Organization of care, sharing and use of knowledge (Health System Research).

The deadline for submissions is November 10 of each year.

The eligibility criteria and the method of evaluation are described below. Applications submitted late, incomplete or which do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be evaluated. The students will be contacted in December following the application deadline.

It is always important to read the rules and criteria before completing the Form (Open the Guide (PDF file at the top of the page) to see the detailed questionnaire).
