Canadian Obesity Summit 2026 - CMDO Competition
Created in April 2012 by the Fonds de Recherche du Québec – secteur Santé (FRQ), the mission of the CardioMetabolic Health, Diabetes and Obesity Research Network is to pursue the development of research into metabolic and cardiovascular health, diabetes and obesity, and to transfer and mobilize knowledge to promote sustainable health among Quebecers.
The network is calling for master’s and doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and residents to participate in the competition for the Canadian Obesity Summit 2026, a conference to be held March 26-29, 2026, in Montreal (conference information: https://obesitycanada.ca/event/canadian-obesity-summit-2026/). The five (5) participants selected will be required to give an oral or poster presentation (as determined by the conference organizers).
Obesity Canada offers free registration to the five (5) winners. All other costs will be covered by the participant and/or their research supervisor.
The deadline for submitting applications is October 15, 2025.
Women, Indigenous people, visible minorities, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community are encouraged to apply. For evaluation purposes, we are committed to recruiting a diverse committee that reflects the profiles of the candidates and ensuring an evaluation process that takes into account the specific situations of the candidates, including atypical career paths.
The eligibility criteria and evaluation process are described in the guide. Late, incomplete, or ineligible applications will not be evaluated. The results of the competition will be announced in the weeks following the application deadline.
It is always important to read the rules and criteria before completing the Form (Open the Guide (PDF file at the top of the page) to see the detailed questionnaire).
FORM MUST BE COMPLETED ONLINE (SEE ABOVE LINK). IT CAN BE RECORDED TO BE COMPLETED LATER.
